As Phoenixville’s downtown began to revitalize, an old business closed and investors saw an opportunity to become part of the renaissance.

Our clients, two young families looking to move into a vibrant urban center, purchased a 4-story furniture store in the heart of the historic downtown district and hired us to renovate it for their active families.

The ground floor and first floor retail spaces were renovated for a new tenant and the long, narrow top two floors (3,000 square feet each) were transformed into two urban lofts, each one individually designed for each family. In order to bring natural light into the center of the interiors, and evoke a dramatic effect upon entering the units, a central 2-story atrium was created with a main stair for each home.

Public living spaces were located along the commercial street and private bedrooms were located along the quieter, rear alley. The modern interiors for each reflect the homeowners’ personalities and deftly rework the interior space in surprising ways.
