When a dear friend and former OB/GYN decided to relocate to Lewes, Delaware, he asked us to renovate his new home—a former mill that had been converted into 6 apartments.

The exterior was dark and overgrown, while the interior was chopped up and lacked detailing. During demolition, the existing timber frame structure was exposed and we were able to incorporate it into the design. We detailed a traditional front porch and a cantilevered interior stair to set the tone for the entire renovation.

New additions included a screen porch overlooking beautiful gardens and a pool, and a two-car attached garage with dog kennels for the homeowner’s show dogs. The transformation was completed and the home has been featured on many Lewes house and garden tours, which is a testament to the vision of our client, who was able to enjoy his new community for a few years before he died unexpectedly.
