After completing a minor renovation project to the lower level Children's Library in 2001, we were re-hired to renovate the entire building in 2011 to better utilize the existing square footage and adapt the library's functional spaces for the changing needs of the public library in our community.

The extensive renovation included expanding the Children's Library with a new multi-purpose meeting room and a new circulation desk, adding more computer stations, improving patron flow and enhancing material display. Upstairs, the Adult circulation desk and offices were redesigned, a large computer center and Young Adult space were reconfigured and the restrooms were made ADA-compliant.

As stewards of the historic stone structure, the Library Foundation wanted the building maintained to ensure its continued performance as a beacon in the community. To that end, the stone was spot re-pointed and repaired, a new roof was installed, and storm windows were custom-made to increase the energy efficiency of the original wood windows, which were re-glazed and painted.
